Just as Jesus went to the mountain to spend intimate time with the Father, so we, too, provide the opportunity for our secondary students to embrace a unique atmosphere to connect with the Lord at our Spiritual Emphasis Retreats.

Why we invest in retreats

Our goal is to cultivate fellowship between classmates in a relaxed and enjoyable Christian environment, drawing them closer to Jesus and to one another.

These retreats are intended to help our students encounter God in a special way that will positively influence transformation in their hearts and minds throughout the school year and beyond. We take them away from the normalcy of everyday life to experience “the mountaintop.”

We also have a ton of fun playing amazing recreation games. We divide the students into teams that compete for the grand prize champion t-shirt.

When are they, and how often?

Spiritual Emphasis Retreat is a three-day, school-sponsored getaway that takes place twice a year (fall and spring). In the fall our emphasis is on looking forward to the coming school year. In the spring, we look back to see all that God has done through His presence in our lives.

2023-24 Theme:

Everybody wants to be genuine. To be known as REAL. And yet we are so afraid of the conviction of authenticity that we hide behind makeshift masks and walls and personas that aren’t true or lasting or good.

So as the world around us embraces the evil of illusion, we choose to stand firm in the immovable truth of the Word of God, vowing to be genuine unto Christ Jesus. We will not get lost in the wasteland of a counterfeit life; instead, we will choose to GET REAL in the pursuit of holiness.

In 1977, the Lord moved in the heart of a generous saint, Reuben Kvidt, to donate 27 acres of beautiful Pismo Beach land with the express desire to build a thriving Christian school. In 2024, that dream is a reality, and it’s Time to Build!

if your child is currently enrolled at CCS, you will receive an email titled “Reenrollment for 2025-2026.” It contains the details you need to walk through the reenrollment process.

Additional children to enroll?

If you have additional children to enroll, you can complete an application for them during the priority enrollment period. While this does not guarantee them a spot, it will provide priority consideration if space is available.

Join the CCS Prayer Warriors

Each Monday at 8 AM, the CCS Prayer Warriors meets to pray for the students, the staff, and our surrounding community. We’d love to have you join us!

Can’t make it to the school Monday mornings? No worries—your prayers are so welcomed whether you’re at the school or praying from where you are (at work, at play, in a car, on a surf board, etc.). :)
