Environmental Stewardship
Garden & Landscape
In 1977, the Lord moved in the heart of a generous saint, Reuben Kvidt, to donate 27 acres of beautiful Pismo Beach land with the express desire to build a thriving Christian school. A portion of this land has been developed for the interesting and educational CCS Environmental Stewardship Program.
Within the development of the original ranch are other nature conservation projects. The “green belt,” and then another seven-acre parcel parallel to James Way.
When the land was donated, it was a cattle ranch. The land was sparsely covered with a few oak trees. Over the years, through nature and mitigation, the property is now covered with acres of oaks.
Today the property showcases a diverse ecosystem of flora and riparian life.

Basin Oak Mitigation
Below is a chart of data collected for our beautiful oak trees! Each one is named, and we actively track overall progress.
We are so proud of all the hard work our students have done with the land the Lord has provided!
