Come surf, body board, body surf, or just play in the sand and waves!

It’s FREE. However, if you’d like to make a donation to help with snacks and such, we wouldn’t say no. 🙂
Meet on the sand in front of the Addie Street Surfer Parking Lot. Look for our blue “Coastal Christian” pop-up tent on the beach, or a group of students wearing wet suits and most likely burying each other in the sand.
We’ll surf south of the Pismo Pier, pretty much straight out from the Addie Street parking.
You’ll need to bring your own (or rented) board and wetsuit. Pismo Beach Surf opens at 9:00 AM for rentals.
We ask all parents to stick around and help their kids get their wetsuits on, put their leashes on the correct foot, and get them comfortable with the other kids and parents there.
Steve Woodward is leading the charge into the amazing Pacific. He is a CCS parent and an avid surfer, and will be in the water with your kids. Each week, several adult volunteers will also be there to help supervise.
From Steve: “I have been surfing for 25 years, learning here on the Central Coast and love surfing Morro, Shell, and Pismo. I have taught and am still teaching all four of my kids to surf, and we go out as a family. I am a parent who loves surfing and is excited to bring together the CCS families who want another great reason to get out there and enjoy one of the best parts of our county—the beach and surf. I plan on being actively in the water helping the new kids understand how to stand up. I plan on paddling out to the break and help kids read the waves, recognize the sets, and learn surf etiquette. My hope is we will work as a collective group of parents and kids helping each other improve our water confidence and surf skills.”

If you are under 12, you’ll need to have a parent or guardian present.
